Part of being a successful entrepreneur involves having the courage to put yourself out there in the world.

And even when you’re doing great things, and loving people up, there will still be people who are going to be “not so lovely” with you.

It’s just part of playing a bigger game. They likely think that because you’ve been given a lot, there is less abundance left for them.

I recorded a super-short video for you this week that explains why this is absolutely, most definitely not the case:

I recently received a comment on my Facebook wall that got me thinking about the mindset of other “lack” oriented people, including this young woman I talk about in the video.

(Nothing’s wrong with her. She just hasn’t been introduced to how abundance gets created through her mindset yet. I sent her love despite her comment…)

Abundance in business is largely a result of your beliefs and your expectations of what’s possible. You’ll see how when you watch the video.

Hey, are you familiar with the Law of Circulation, as it relates to giving?

One thing I’ve learned over the years that’s made me successful in business is understanding that the act of giving is one of the highest vibrational energies in the world.

When you give something valuable to someone, from your heart, you instantly feel more abundant, you feel good about yourself, you do something good for the person on the receiving end and it triggers the Law of Circulation.

Greetings from Manhattan!

I’m hanging out with some truly amazing entrepreneurs today on my Mindset Tour, sharing exactly what it takes to get out of one’s rut and play bigger.

Listen, I meet people all the time who have been stuck at the same level for a while, business growth-wise, and especially financially.

It’s normal, but it can be fixed very quickly.

In fact, just recently, a woman came up to me after an event, gave me a big hug and asked:

“Tell me the truth, Fabienne… Why is it that I’ve been stuck at the same plateau in my business for several years? I do well but I’m not moving up. Why is this happening?”
 
I told her something in confidence that created a breakthrough for her on the spot, and I think you might benefit from hearing it too.

Don’t beat yourself up…

You may feel like you’re in a similar place but just know it’s totally normal…

So many entrepreneurs find themselves plateauing in business at some point. (I have too, no big deal. It’s to be expected.)

Millionaire-SmallAs entrepreneurs we started out having to master every aspect of our business: marketing, sales, technology, content creation, customer service, client delivery, web design and more. It’s amazing how quickly we become control freaks and how much it benefits us, at least in the beginning.

Ultimately, as we grow, the propensity to micromanage slows us down and holds us back from growing our income and impact in the world. There’s only so much that one person can do alone, and the same is still true if you have a micro-managed team.

So there you are in a Catch-22: the mindset and mechanics that used to fuel your small business growth in the start-up phase now hold you back and prevent the growth you want.

To reach big numbers in your small business, you need to shift to a new mindset of productivity and delegating. (Click here to tweet this.)

Here are the necessary action steps to achieve your dream:

1. Strategic Planning

If you don’t know where you’re going, you definitely won’t get there. You need to know where you’re going (goals), how you’re going to get there (strategy), when you need to take action to make it happen (timeline), and why, to keep you inspired and accountable (purpose).

Routine strategic planning leads to the best results because it keeps your goals at the forefront of your mind. This regular planning also enables you to identify when you’re off course so that you can get back on track.

2. Systematize

I hear people say all the time that they don’t have time to delegate. The truth is you have time to delegate, but you just haven’t taken the time to create clear, repeatable systems so that it’s easy to do. Any millionaire entrepreneur will tell you that the “self-made millionaire” is a myth. It takes a team. To run a successful team you need systems. It’s that simple.

3. Delegate

Once you’ve documented your systems, use them to efficiently communicate tasks, expectations and processes to one or more team members. Be sure to create an open line of communication while also cultivating independence in your team members.

Your Productivity Assignment

Do you know what you want to delegate next? Make a list of routine activities you do that do not directly use your unique talents (tasks like formatting weekly ezine, editing videos, bookkeeping or scheduling). Now choose one and schedule time for you to document that system this week. Then delegate it, reap the rewards and repeat the process with a new task.

We all face fears. Everyone.

In fact, they never go away. (Sorry, but it’s the truth.)

Something I’m teaching our students of my Business School today is that at every new level, there’s a new devil.

Every time you go for something bigger, in business or in life, you will experience a certain level of fear.

Expect it.

But what do you do with that fear? Today’s new 4-minute video will show you what to do when you experience fear so you get out of it.

I think you’ll really like the simple process that’s required to move out of fear. It’s so simple, but few people actually do it.

Only those who are truly successful do.

In fact, it’s because they do this that they become successful.

Intention-SmallDo you have big plans? Are you the kind of person who dreams big? Good for you! That’s very exciting and I want to help you realize those dreams and make them a reality in your life. By setting an intention, you are taking charge and sending a message to the Universe that you mean business. You are serious about your goals and are ready to take steps to see them come into being.

What is an intention?

A working definition for the word “intention” is: “To have in mind a purpose or plan; to direct the mind; or to aim.” When there is a lack of intention, you might stray from your goal or have no goal at all. You could also end up working without meaning or direction, neither of which will help you get very far.

A solid intention that is well-thought-out allows all the forces of the Universe to align and make what seems impossible become possible. Follow this five-step guide to setting an intention.

1. Get clear about your intention

First get clear about what you want. Take time to think about something you want to accomplish or manifest and define it. Knowing what you want and why you want it provides a solid foundation from which to manifest and create.

2. Write it down

When you write your intention down, you are making it more real. The more real it feels, the more energy that goes into it. Energy is what brings things into form and into your reality.

3. Share it with someone to be accountable

When you tell someone about your intention, you are taking another step to manifest it. I encourage my students to share their intentions with a person who will hold them accountable. By doing this you are more likely to follow through and focus on the intention you set.

4. Take action to support your intention

Do something every day that supports your intention. This demonstrates commitment to your intention and, again, puts energy into it.

5. Acknowledge yourself

After you take a step that is in alignment with your intention, acknowledge yourself for following through and sticking to your commitment. This is a positive and powerful step.

Your Client Attraction Assignment

Intentions can be really huge or very simple. You can set an intention daily upon waking, before you even get out of bed. Intend to have a happy or productive day. Intend to eat well and make healthy choices. Intend to easily find the right virtual assistant. Intend to make 50 percent more money this year than last. Intend to spend quality time with family every day. Whatever you intend, you are putting forth energy towards bringing that goal into reality and living the way you desire.

I have been flying high for the past 7 days…

One of the things I put in my mind movie (basically a video vision board) many years ago is an image of me speaking in front of tens of thousands of people.

This week, it happened. Twice.

I had the most awesome opportunity to speak in front of a total of approximately 14,000 high achieving young people about embracing your magnificence. And I have to say it was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever done.

I shared with them that their potential is so much more than they realize.

And that to really play a much bigger game in their life, they need to look up the ladder and reach for bigger.

I made a new 4-minute video for you that you can use in your own life and business.

This concept of looking up the ladder is something I share with my students all the time. And it creates big mindset shifts and income breakthroughs.

FocusAs a small business owner, there are countless people and projects clamoring for your attention, which can make it difficult to focus. Distractions often prevent you from getting your work done. Yet, executing strategies that bring you fast cash are essential to build your business quickly.

You may think there are not enough hours in the day. However, the true solution is becoming focused and sticking to your plan to complete projects. Let me share three empowering strategies that will help you improve focus and spike productivity.

1. What are your biggest time wasters?

When you think about what distracts you from work, it may be any of these activities:
• Email
• Personal phone calls
• Social media
• Errands
• Not delegating enough
• Non-money-making activities
• Other people’s priorities

Take out a piece of paper and write down what activities are the most distracting to your productivity. Getting clear on what takes you off course and competes for your attention is the first step to improving productivity. Think about what gets in your way on a daily basis.

2. Allow yourself to say no

I know you work hard, so have a little compassion for yourself. Making yourself feel bad will not help change the situation. As an entrepreneur, you never get to the bottom of your to-do list and it’s time to accept this as a fact. Take a moment to consider what you need to say “No” to in order to clear your desk for priority projects.

Here are three steps you can take situations to say “No” and guard your time:
• If what you are working on is not generating money or a big game changer, stop doing it.
• Set strong boundaries with family, friends, colleagues and even clients if needed.
• Hire childcare if you need it; even two hours a day can improve productivity.

3. Use Tools that Boost Productivity

Try any of these suggestions to become more focused and enhance your productivity.
• Get away from your desk to disrupt your routine. Try a café, the library or even work at home once a week to be super focused during this time.
• Close all non-essential windows on your computer like Facebook Twitter, email, etc.
• Let calls go to voicemail and return calls later.
• Use an egg time or countdown clock on your phone or computer for focused time periods. When the timer rings, you are done—no matter how much you’ve accomplished.

Please keep in mind you are human and tomorrow is another day. Whatever you don’t finish will be there tomorrow, but having an end time is just as important as setting time aside to focus on priority tasks.

I encourage you to also make a list of what you need to stop doing or delegate to free up time for more important, money-generating activities. Since there are only so many hours in a day, the better you get at using your time productively and not allowing yourself to get distracted, the more you‘ll accomplish.
