An amazing thing transpired this week during my Mastermind meeting with my clients. While the rest of the country seems to be gripped in fear of the economy and general uncertainty, my Mastermind clients continue to manifest BIG marketing and business opportunities (and high-paying clients, big paid speaking gigs, etc.), in REAL TIME.

Yesterday, in our Mastermind meeting, we witnessed several examples of INSTANT manifestation, and I asked if there were more to share. “Jane” looked at me, and I saw her eyes well up in tears of joy. She told us that something really big had happened to her in the last 12 hours. Let me give you some background to the story. (more…)

To dramatically increase referrals, it’s important to educate the people you consider personal advocates (those who know you, like you, trust you, love you, and want the best for you), and let them know what you’re up to and who your best clients are.

If you’re just starting out, it’s a letter of introduction; if you’ve been in practice several months or years, write an “update letter” on how your practice has grown or new services that you provide.

Years ago, there was a question in my intake packet for new clients titled, “What is holding you back or slowing your progress?”, as it relates to attracting all the clients they need and having a full practice. Having worked with hundreds and hundreds of clients over the years, I’ve seen it all. Other than “no knowledge of marketing,” one thing seems to come up over and over again, and it happened again this week, with a brand new client.

The client answered this: “Sometimes, the ‘Little Voice’ inside me asks, ‘Who needs my program anyway? This is basic information that I offer. People already know this stuff!'” This is so common, but in most every case, this is absolutely not accurate.

During a Mastermind session over a year ago, I got clear on the ONE obstacle that was standing between me and tripling my business past the 7-figure mark. Contrary to what I originally thought, it wasn’t a lack of knowledge, of what to do next or a marketing challenge. I actually knew exactly what to do to double or triple my business. For me, it was a question of leveraging my time, my marketing and my resources so that I can help many, many more solo-preneurs get more clients, create systems for marketing, clean up their mindset and give them the tools and the permission to succeed (I teach this heavy-duty stuff in my upcoming workshop). Sometimes, you just KNOW there’s something you need to take action on to take your business forward. However, if you’re anything like me, you’ve gotten stopped in the past, even when it’s something you KNOW will create big results. You procrastinate, you tidy up your office, get another cup of coffee, ANYTHING to not get it done. Ever have that happen to you?

There are different reasons why you may be stalling from taking action. It could be that you don’t know the next steps, that you’re not sure how to move forward. That happens, but that’s not what we’re talking about today. Most likely, it’s something deeper. (more…)

It’s a phenomenon that happens to most people in business for themselves after a few years. When solo-entrepreneurs first get started in marketing their business, they have gusto, they have energy, and many take a no-excuses approach to getting clients. They’re WILLING to do what it takes, and they do it often (most of them).

But after a few years, they begin to rest on their laurels, they get lazy, and after a while, they stop doing what they used to do to get clients. Some stop networking; some stop doing free intro classes, either in person or over the phone; some no longer do as much speaking as they used to. They’ve slowed down their marketing, and then they wonder what’s happened to their pipeline: it’s empty. (more…)

Have you ever looked at your to-do list and just wanted to run away? Sometimes, procrastination gets the best of us self-employed people. It seems that everything is a priority and we tend to put some things on the back burner. The thing is, if the items on your to-do list have to do with marketing and Client Attraction, then you don’t want to ignore them (if you do, your pipeline of prospects will be empty in 6 months, or less).

Procrastination creeps its ugly head in my business every now and then. Personally, I think it’s more overwhelm than procrastination and the list can be so overwhelming that I tend to go into avoidance/denial mode, preferring to just not deal with it. (Has that ever happened to you too?) (more…)

Have you ever felt on the verge of something BIG in your business, that the next level is just within your reach, and at the same time, wondering if you have what it takes to make it happen, if you can actually handle it? There was a point in time when I curiously observed this with colleagues, students and Mastermind Clients of mine.

I had wondered, “Why is everyone around me so afraid of the next level? Why don’t they just reach out for it and make it happen?” Well, after some reflection, it dawned on me that my clients were essentially holding up a mirror for ME, as deep inside I’d been feeling the same fear of leaving my current comfort zone for something much bigger.

You see, things had been going great in this business, and yet, I kept having this nagging feeling that the next BIG level was about to show up (speaking now, from hindsight, it was right smack in front of me. Duh.) And at the same time, it seemed I was being asked by the Universe to really STEP UP my personal growth. “Healer, heal thyself”. I saw how, to teach others about this ‘Marketing and Mindset’ stuff on a GRAND scale, I had to surrender even more to what was possible for me. You’d think this would have been easy, but somehow, for both my clients AND for me, it was still a challenge. (more…)
